Dr Ouyang received his PhD from Dalian University of Technology (DUT), China, in 1989. After working in DUT for 8 years, he moved to the UK. He had been a professor in the School of Engineering, University of Liverpool (UoL), from 2010 to 2023. He is now a distinguished professor in Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU). He has published over 300 journal papers, which have attracted well over 10,000 citations. His main research areas include structural dynamics and control, inverse dynamic analysis, vibration-based energy harvesting and solid mechanics.
